About the Department

Department Of General Engineering

General engineering is the branch of science and technology dealing with the design, building, maintenance and use of engines, machines and structures. It includes subcategories such as electrical, chemical, mechanical, civil, architectural engineering and computer engineering. The department mainly handles basic subjects common for all branches that include Engineering Graphics, Basic Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering.

The objective of the department are

Be able to identify necessary known and unknown information towards a solution and the process to be followed to arrive at a solution.

Work effectively in small groups through well-developed problem solving skills and be able to organize the group to optimize performance and results.

The Goals of the department are

Ensuring that all the students admitted to B.E., programme are qualified in the university examinations.

Providing soft skills, technical aptitude training and domain knowledge.

Improving the leadership ability thereby making the students as successful entrepreneurs.

Conducting various programs on personality development, add–on skills etc., on regular basis.

Encouraging faculty to undertake projects with financial assistance from funding agencies.
